The lockdowns in Greater Sydney, Victoria and South Australia have seen Google Mobility averages across Australia decline (for the 7-day average to 25th July) to their lowest level since 11th May last year.
Queensland, where the most recent lockdown was short and sharp in late-June/early-July, now sits with the best result in the nation with average mobility down just 1.6% from the Jan 2020 baseline; this is about 18.7% better than the national figure, 26.5% better than NSW and 30.7% above Victoria.
In our own region Cairns continues to do very well. Average mobility is now at 7.7% above the baseline, or 28% above the national average!
