Liveable Cassowary Coast Transport Project
What is the Project?
The Liveable Cassowary Coast Transport Project completed an audit of all public and community transport resources in the southern half (south from El Arish) of the Cassowary Coast Region. The report, which was completed at the end of 2011, provides information and recommendations to inform policy and planning decisions, provide support for future funding applications and help to ensure the optimal transport network for the area.
The Transport Project dove-tails with the Liveable Cassowary Coast Whole of Community Plan, which is available for
download here.
This project was proudly funded by the Queensland Government's Building Rural Communities through Blueprint for the Bush and Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
The Final Report is available for download below.
How did we find out what you think?
During the course of the project we conducted a number of community forums in the region to hear from as many people as possible.
We also conducted an extensive survey which included a $200 prize draw for all those who completed the survey. Full terms, conditions and details of the winner of the Prize Draw are available here. A
Facebook page was set up to allow direct contact with the project with thoughts and ideas; even after the closing of the official survey.
