Giving to the Community
We commit to giving at least 1% of our revenues back to the community each year.
In recent years this has taken the form of patronage of the Mission Beach Film Festival and Mission Arts. In 2012 we launched the CONUS Grant Program inviting applications from community groups in the Cassowary Coast. Grants were made in 2012 to the Innisfail Community Band, Kurrimine Beach Progress, Recreation & Sporting Assn. and Mission Beach Community Arts Centre.
Reducing our Carbon Footprint
We commit to reducing our impact on our environment wherever we can.
We limit our energy use, restrict unnecessary travel and recycle our waste whenever possible. Each year we conduct a full Carbon Audit and offset our emissions from electricity use, car and plane travel, waste production and paper use. We choose to use Climate Friendly to offset our carbon as we believe they offer the best alternative. Conducting a Carbon Audit not only allows us to calculate our offset requirement, but it has also focused our attention on energy usage. We now receive the majority of our electricity from our own solar generation.
Playing our part in the Community
We commit to being full and active members of our community.
We are involved in a number of community groups in the Mission Beach and Cassowary Coast region. These have included positions within the Cassowary Coast Business Women's Network, Mission Beach Community Association, Mission Beach & Burgundy Club, Cassowary Coast Regional Council Audit Committee, Cassowary Coast Regional Council Rates Reference Group, Mission Beach Aquatic Recreation Club, Mission Beach Film Festival, Mission Beach Aquatic Facility Community Consultation Group and the Cassowary Coast Regional Council Economic Development Reference Group. We are current members of the Innisfail Chamber of Commerce, Tully Chamber of Commerce and Mission Beach Business and Tourism.
Ensuring we are Well Trained
We commit to continually updating and upgrading our training.
In order to offer our clients the highest level of service we believe we must stay at the forefront of developments within our industry. We therefore undertake regular training activities and maintain membership of relevant industry bodies where appropriate. These include the Recruitment Consulting Services Association, the Economics Society of Australia (Queensland) and the Institute of Management Consultants.
