Victoria has been the big visitor winner; QLD the loser

Over the past decade or so Victoria has been the stand-out winner when it comes to where our international visitors are heading. Data from the ABS shows that more and more of our visitors have been spending more time in Victoria; and the biggest loser has been Queensland.

Since Jan 2000 (when totalled over the previous 12 months) the percentage of short term visitors spending most of their time in Victoria has risen from 14.5% to 23.3% while in Queensland it has fallen from 28.8% to just 22.4%. NSW has also slipped from 42.1% to 38.1%.
